Hope Farm Wedding Photographers, Bridport

Some weddings remind you that you don't need to follow the usual rules to have a brilliant day. You just need the people you love, a place to bring everyone together, and the freedom to enjoy it.

That was the feeling at this wedding at Hope Farm in Bridport. Set in the Dorset countryside, with the valley stretching out around them, it was the kind of day that felt less like a formal wedding and more like one big party with all their favourite people.

The couple wanted to break away from the traditional wedding script. No speeches that left people worrying about standing up in front of everyone. No cake cutting that meant stopping the party for another wedding tradition. Instead, they made room for what mattered to them: time with family, friends catching up, families meeting for the first time, and children being part of it all.

And it worked. Without a long list of formalities to get through, everyone had space to relax and be themselves. The kids could play, guests could settle into conversations, and nobody had to spend the day wondering what they were supposed to be doing next. There was time for outdoor games, plenty of laughter and a pavlova made by Mum for dessert. A little DIY, a lot of personality, and a day that felt like theirs from start to finish.

Hope Farm is a lovely place for a day like this. The countryside setting gives everyone room to spread out, relax and enjoy being together. And as the day moved towards evening, the golden-hour light filled the valley with warmth. It's hard to beat that sort of light, especially when everyone is outside, the celebrations are still going and there's nowhere else you'd rather be.

Looking back, it's the combination of everything that makes this wedding stand out. The setting, the personal touches, the children being right in the middle of the fun, and a couple who made choices that let them enjoy the day rather than worry about getting everything right.

Because your wedding doesn't have to look or feel like anyone else's. You can keep the traditions you love, leave out the ones you don't, make your own dessert, skip the speeches and turn the whole thing into a party.

And if you can spend your wedding day doing exactly that, surrounded by the people who mean the most to you, we reckon you're onto something.

If you're planning a wedding in Dorset and want to make the day your own, we'd love to hear what you're dreaming up.

The lovely Vicky & Nathan shared the following review about their experience of choosing us to photograph their wedding day.

“We are so grateful that we were recommended Phillip and Chloe for our wedding at Hope Farm in August. From the moment we video called them we knew they were the perfect match for our wedding.

The debrief was a very chilled vibe, which was completely understood. On the day, from start to finish, Phillip and Chloe were taking snaps without anyone realising and mingling with the guests. We have received the most relaxed, beautiful and natural photos of ourselves, family and friends. We honestly love every single photo they took!

A big thank you for going above and beyond, making sure myself and my husband had drinks and canapés after the ceremony and Chloe for keeping me calm when I needed it when getting ready, it was very appreciated!

Thank you both so much for capturing our wedding in such a beautiful way, we now get to relive such a special day through your photos. We genuinely couldn’t have wished for anyone better to be part of our day.”
